The AL-811XCE amplifier is the ideal linear to use in the UK. It can easily deliver 600W PEP output limit with room to spare (the AL-811HXCE delivers 800W PEP with 4 x 811A valves).
The excellent cooling fan runs quietly but efficiently and enables you to work contests or rag-chew. It matches the modern solid state rig and offers up to 9dB of power gain, that’s nearly two S-points. In an instant you can switch it to standby when not needed and just as quickly switch it back into circuit. The heart of the unit is its power supply which uses a really hunky transformer and components to match. Carefully designed circuitry results in 70% efficiency and the valves will happily load into 3:1 VSWR.
