The PT-114A AC to DC power supply and DC UPS is for radio communication and general purpose applications. Ideal where an uninterrupted supply is required for continuous operation. The PT-114A supplies power to the radio equipment and charges an external lead acid battery. If the mains supply fails the battery is automatically brought online. When the mains is reinstated the PT-114A then charges the battery. This has been a common feature with computer systems for some time but not for radio. Useful for unattended packet stations or repeater sites, or for systems that require uninterrupted operation, especially during power cuts or poorly supplied sites.
