The Heil BM-10 headset is a lightweight option that is only 3 oz, and it is designed for DXpeditions, mobile use, and general rag chewing. The speakers used in the BM-10 are compassionate, requiring minimal AF drive from the transceiver. The earpads are made of replaceable acoustic foam with a frequency response of 60 Hz - 12 kHz and low distortion.

Available in two versions, the BM-10-Dynamic features a 600-ohm dynamic element suitable for most Amateur Radio rigs. On the other hand, the BM-10-iC utilizes an iC electret element tailored for Icom radios, eliminating low-gain audio on specific models. The iC element requires the AD-1-IC (included) or AD-1-ICM adapter for operation, with an operating frequency response of 35Hz - 12kHz.

The BM-10 series microphone audio terminates into a 1/8” male plug, while the headphone uses a 1/8“ stereo plug (1/8” to 1/4” adapter included). The in-line PTT has a 1/4” mono plug and a built-in Push to Talk button with a clip for convenience. The boom is secured to the headphone speaker with a boom clip, and tension adjustments can be made by bending the spring stainless steel pieces for a customized fit.
