Icom's now discontinued wideband handheld receiver, the IC-R30, offers wide frequency coverage from 0.1 to 3304.999 MHz in various modes including AM, FM, WFM, USB, LSB, and CW. It can also decode digital modes such as P25, NXDN, DPMR, D-STAR, and Japanese domestic DCR.

The IC-R30 features dual watch operation, allowing simultaneous monitoring of different bands and modes. It also includes a dual-band recording function that can save audio from two bands individually onto a microSD card. The 2.3-inch large LCD display and intuitive user interface make the operation straightforward.

With integrated GPS, the IC-R30 displays position data, course, speed, and altitude. It can list up to 50 stations within 160 km of the current location. The radio's high-speed scan function scans approximately 200 channels per second in the A band and 150 channels per second in the B band, with various scan options available.
