Icom has expanded its IDAS digital two-way radio range by introducing the IC-F62D. This new radio is compact but also waterproof and dustproof, making it an ideal choice for outdoor environments such as construction sites or seasonal hires. Compared to Icom's popular IC-F51/IC-F51V analogue series, the IC-F62D stands out for its smaller size and advanced features.

The IC-F62D has various general features, including 512 channels, a 14-dot matrix character display, programmable functions, and a backlit LCD. Its compact design, measuring 29mm in slim dimensions with the BP-290 battery pack, makes it easy to carry and use in various settings. Additionally, the radio offers MIL-STD-810 G shock resistance and IP67/66/55/54 waterproof and dust-tight protection, ensuring durability in challenging conditions.

Operating in analogue mode, analogue/digital mixed operation, or various digital modes like NXDN or dPMR, the IC-F62D provides flexibility for different communication needs. It also includes digital functions such as voice and data transmission, AMBE+2 vocoder, and over-the-air programming capabilities. With security features like digital voice scramblers, power-on passwords, and emergency call keys, the IC-F62D prioritizes user safety and secure communication.
