The Icom RS-R8600 Remote Control Software for IC-R8600 allows for remote control of the IC-R8600 receiver through an IP Network or a USB cable. It offers high-quality audio with low latency. Users can register up to 256 network receivers and select one to operate. The software also enables the recording of received audio using the PC Utility, allowing for easy storage on a PC. Various functions of the receiver can be controlled with the software, except for SD memory card operation. Even when the Remote Control function is turned off, users can still monitor the spectrum scope on their PC. The software features a taller waterfall screen compared to the IC-R8600 and offers high-speed scanning equivalent to the receiver. For realistic dial operation, users can opt for the optional RC-28 USB remote encoder, which provides a hardware dial.
