The Kenwood TS-480SAT transceiver boasts an RF output power of 100 W for SSB/FM/CW/FSK and 25 W for AM, making it a versatile option for various modes of operation. With a 5 W minimum output for QRP operation and an antenna impedance of 50 Ohm, this transceiver offers flexibility and efficiency in transmitting signals. Additionally, it provides more than 2 W of audio output power at 8 Ohm with 10% distortion, ensuring clear sound quality during communication.
Equipped with a receiver frequency range of 30 kHz to 60 MHz and receiver circuitry featuring double superheterodyne for SSB/CW/AM/FSK and triple superheterodyne for FM, the Kenwood TS-480SAT offers excellent sensitivity and selectivity. It also includes features such as receiver beat elimination of more than 40 dB, receiver IF rejection ratio of over 70 dB, and receiver image rejection ratio exceeding 70 dB, enhancing the overall reception quality. Moreover, the transmitter of this transceiver provides a carrier suppression of more than 40 dB and spurious radiation levels below -50 dB for HF and less than -60 dB for 50 MHz, ensuring clean and efficient transmission.
In terms of additional features, the Kenwood TS-480SAT includes CW functionalities like auto-weighting with adjustable manual fixed ratios, a built-in memory keyer with adjustable keying speeds, CW auto transmit, CW autotune, and more. It also offers options such as optional IF filters, a temperature-controlled crystal oscillator, and a voice guide and storage module, enhancing the user experience and customization possibilities. With its comprehensive specifications and advanced features, the Kenwood TS-480SAT transceiver is a reliable, high-performance communication device for amateur radio operators.
