The mAT-30 automatic tuner is designed for modern YAESU transceivers that support an FC-30, FC-40, or FC-50 YAESU tuner. Compatible units include FT-100, FT-857D, FT-897D, FT-450D, FT-891, FT-950, FT-991, FT-991A, and FTDX-3000. Its operation mirrors the YAESU tuner's method, which is known for its simplicity and convenience.

While the mAT-30 does not currently support the FT-817/818, an alternative tuner is available: the mAT-10, specifically crafted for QRP transceivers like the FT-817/818 and other QRP devices.

The mAT-30 connects to the radio through its CAT/LINEAR jack, using the transceiver's Tune button to control the tuning cycle. Operating within the range of 1.6MHz to 54MHz at power levels up to 120 watts, it can tune various antennas such as dipoles, verticals, Yagis, and coax-fed antennas, offering a broader range of antennas and impedances compared to other tuners.
