The USB-68 can be used in place of the SCU-18 and SCU-19 cables from Yaesu. Programming-wise, the USB-68 can be used on both the FT1D and FT2D. But there are NO firmware updates on the FT2D; the radio has built-in electronics that the firmware updater for that radio works with; that's why it requires the genuine Yaesu cable instead!
