The CHA WINDOM 40 is a lightweight, portable HF antenna designed for reliable multiband performance on 40m, 20m and 10m without requiring an antenna tuner under normal operating conditions. Covering 6M to 40M with tuner assistance, it offers excellent versatility for portable, field and fixed‑station use.

Engineered for efficiency, the antenna delivers 250W SSB / 100W CW power handling and maintains an SWR of < 2:0 (typically 1:3 to 1:6) when installed at 35–45 ft. SWR performance varies depending on balun height, leg angle, feed‑line length, and nearby structures.

When tested at 10 ft elevation in an inverted‑V configuration using a RigExpert AA‑520 and 50 ft of RG‑8X, the antenna demonstrated smooth SWR curves across its primary bands. Elevation, coax type, and installation geometry will influence results.

The CHA WINDOM 40 measures 66 ft in total length and uses #16 proprietary stranded wire—with a 22 ft (6.7m) short leg and 44 ft (13.4m) long leg. A rugged 5:1 250W SSB balun is mounted on a durable polycarbonate plate, with 10 ft of paracord 550 at each end and an additional 20 ft for securing the balun.
