Kenwood KAT-1 is an automatic antenna tuning unit (ATU) designed by Kenwood.
The KAT-1 Kenwood Automatic ATU, previously known as the AT-300, is a weatherproof auto ATU designed to operate within the frequency range of 1.8 to 29.7MHz. It is compatible with TS-450, TS-690, TS-850, TS-870, and TS-570DG transceivers.
With a maximum power handling capacity of 150W and an input impedance of 50W, the KAT-1 ATU ensures efficient signal transmission. It boasts a VSWR of less than 1.5, making it an excellent choice for optimizing antenna performance. The minimum recommended antenna size is 80m by 2.7m for the 1.8-29.7MHz frequency range and 160m by 12m for 160m.
The KAT-1 ATU provides swift and accurate tuning capabilities. Its quick tune-up time is 2 to 15 seconds, and its tuning power range is 2 to 15W. Operating at a supply voltage of 13.8V DC, this auto ATU has compact dimensions of 258 x 425 x 90mm and weighs 3kg, making it a portable and efficient solution for amateur radio enthusiasts.
