Alphanumeric LCD and Illuminated Keypad
Capable of displaying up to 6 large alphanumeric characters – in either frequency or
Memory Name mode – the positive-type amber LCD display comes with a 32-step
brightness control to suit all driving conditions, day or night. Also, the front and
microphone keypads are illuminated.

High Quality Front Speaker
Assuring not only powerful output but also excellent clarity is the large-diameter oval (58
mm x 35 mm) speaker mounted in the front panel.
200 memory channels plus 1 call-channel

Each of the 200 memory channels can be used to store, transmit, and receive frequencies
independently. Additionally, memory data can be edited and stored on a PC. (Requires
USB PC Interface Cable KPG-46U, and Memory Control Software MCP-1A)
Memory Name function
Identification of up to 100 memory channels is possible with up to 6 alphanumeric
characters.
Multiple Scan functions
Included among the scan functions are VFO scan, memory scan, call scan, Tone/CTCSS
scan and DCS scan. There are TO (Time-operated), CO (carrier-operated) and seek scan
resume modes. Also priority scan is available (Priority scan checks Priority channel every
3 seconds).
Built-in CTCSS and DCS encoder/decoder
The CTCSS and DCS encoder/decoder enables operation of the 42 CTCSS sub tone
frequencies and 104 DCS sub tone frequencies
