The Hi-Power Matching Transformer is designed for Multi-Band End-Fed Half-Wave antennas, suitable for both home and field use. By simply adding your antenna wire, like the Messi & Paoloni Dipoflex wire, you can cover multiple bands. For instance, attaching 130 feet of wire allows for operation on 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 meters.Â
Depending on your setup, using an AMU/ATU in conjunction with the transformer may extend the frequency range to include 30, 17, and 12 meters. Additionally, with a 130-foot wire, you can also access the 160m 'Top Band' by using an external AMU/ATU. The versatility of the antenna wire allows for various configurations such as straight, sloper, inverted V, inverted L, and more, making it ideal for limited space and stealth applications.
Calculating the wire length for optimal performance is crucial. The length can be determined using the formulas: Length (feet) = 468 divided by Frequency (MHz) or Length (meters) = 142.5 divided by Frequency (MHz). It's recommended that the wire be cut slightly longer to facilitate tuning. Experimenting with different installations is encouraged to find the best setup for your specific environment. Remember to follow grounding recommendations to prevent electrostatic discharge and potential equipment damage.
