The Adonis P-8AP is a dedicated microphone pre-amplifier designed for older Icom transceivers that require additional mic gain. Many original Icom microphones featured an internal pre-amp within the mic housing—when replaced with a non-original mic, this gain is lost, resulting in reduced audio performance.

The P-8AP solves this by integrating a 30dB amplifier directly into an 8-pin round plug, restoring optimal mic gain without modifying the transceiver. It draws power directly from the Icom mic socket, ensuring a clean and efficient setup.
