1940s Ham Radio Box Set – RSGB Special Edition with six vintage booklets in gold slipcover

1940s Ham Radio Box Set (Special Edition)

Shortly after WWII, the RSGB published a series of booklets detailing key aspects of amateur radio as it was in the late 1940s. Originally released between 1947 and 1949, these booklets became foundational texts for post‑war radio enthusiasts.

Now reissued in their original form, this Special Edition Box Set features all six booklets housed in a metallic gold slipcover, offering a historical masterclass in amateur radio and electronics.

Each booklet is a time capsule of technical insight, covering topics that shaped the evolution of modern radio. With nearly 450 pages of content, this set is ideal for collectors, historians, and hobbyists alike.

Included Booklets

  • VHF Technique – Propagation, aerials, transmitters, receivers, measurements, FM (96 pages)

  • Transmitter Interference – Causes and Cures for MW and TV Interference (32 pages)

  • Valve Technique – Amplifiers, oscillators, detectors, VHF valves, noise (104 pages)

  • Receivers – Design principles, superhet, FM, fault‑finding, calibration (96 pages)

  • Microwave Technique – Waveguides, cavity resonators, aerials, measurements (68 pages)

  • Simple Transmitting Equipment – Fundamentals, 25W transmitter, VFO, crystals (52 pages)

Presented in A6 format (184 × 120 mm) with vintage cover designs, this set is both a technical reference and a collector’s piece.

Please note: The slipcover design differs from the version announced in the March 2006 RadCom.
