The Yaesu FT-891 HF All Mode Mobile Transceiver is a compact yet powerful radio that continues the legacy of Yaesu’s renowned receiver design. Offering uncompromising performance for both mobile and stationary amateur operators, it delivers a clean, clear signal and an enjoyable operating experience in a rugged, ultra-compact form factor.

At the heart of the FT-891 is a high-end 32-bit floating-point DSP, providing advanced signal processing for improved clarity, reduced operator fatigue, and effective noise reduction on the HF bands. The receiver circuit features triple conversion with a 1st IF of 69.450 MHz for SSB/CW/AM modes and includes a 3 kHz roofing filter as standard. A high-stability TCXO (±0.5 ppm from -10 °C to +50 °C) ensures excellent frequency accuracy.

The FT-891 delivers a stable 100 W (25 W AM) of RF output power, supported by a carefully engineered PA stage, thermostatically controlled dual internal fans, and a die-cast heat-transferring chassis for long-term reliability. The 32-bit IF DSP provides powerful QRM rejection, random noise reduction, AUTO NOTCH (DNF) for beat tone elimination, and CONTOUR/APF functions to enhance weak signals during HF operation. A native USB port allows full rig control via a virtual COM port (VCP), making it ideal for modern digital and computer-controlled setups.

Designed for ease of use, the FT-891 features a large main tuning dial, intuitive pop-up menu system, multi-function knob, large TX/RX indicator, and three programmable front-panel function keys. It fully supports the ATAS-25 and ATAS-120A Active Tuning Antenna Systems for true plug-and-play field and mobile operation. Despite its feature set, the FT-891 remains ultra-compact and rugged, measuring just 155 x 52 x 218 mm.

When paired with the optional FC-50 Antenna Tuner Unit, specifically designed for the FT-891, this transceiver becomes a highly flexible HF/6m solution for base, mobile, or portable use.
