The MFJ-1624 Mini Bug Catcher is a highly efficient base-loaded antenna that covers the 6 to 40-meter HF bands. It can be easily mounted on a truck lip, mirror, luggage mount, or tri-mag mount. With minimal effort, you can become an 'HF Mobile-er' and enjoy rag-chewing and DXing on the go. Attaching the antenna to a trunk lip mount, mirror or luggage mount, or tri-magnet mount takes only minutes. The antenna can handle up to 300 Watts of PEP, but it is recommended to operate at around 20 Watts to avoid overloading the cigarette lighter. The MFJ-1624 bug catcher design features a large air-wound inductor, ensuring high efficiency. It also includes a built-in inductive matching network to keep SWR low. The 5 1/2 foot whip collapses to 2 1/2 feet for easy storage. The antenna is base-loaded, minimizing wind load and stress. Changing bands is as simple as moving the 'wander lead'. The mount size is 3/8 by 24 inches.
