Sirio SB-2S "M-1" marine antenna designed for optimal performance in marine environments
The marine antenna is a mono-band, unity-gain, omnidirectional stainless steel antenna designed to function without a ground plane. It features DC ground protection against static discharges and a stainless steel bracket for easy mast top mounting. The antenna is built to withstand harsh weather conditions and comes with stainless steel hardware for durability.
Two models are available: SB 1 S with a high-quality whip made of brass and copper protected by a fibreglass tube and SB 2 S with a 17/7 PH tapered stainless steel whip. The electrical data includes a frequency range of 154.4-163.5 MHz, impedance of 50Ω unbalanced, and vertical polarization. The antenna has a gain of 0 dBd, 2.15 dBi, and a maximum power of 100 Watts.
In terms of mechanical data, the materials used vary between the two models. SB 1 S is made of glass fibre, nylon, and chromed brass, while SB 2 S is constructed from 17/7 PH stainless steel, nylon, and chromed brass. The height and weight of each model are also provided, with SB 1 S measuring 1060 mm in height and weighing 380 grams and SB 2 S measuring 1050 mm in height and weighing 330 grams.
